Quinn and the magical guitar

Quinn and the magical guitar

I've been working on a children's storybook titled 'Quinn and the magical guitar' that hopefully will be published this spring. The text is done but I still have a few illustrations to complete in order to finish the book. The premise of the book is to teach young children about music. Not theoretical but about music genres. To help them develop an appreciation of music. The story talks about musical legends and heroes, the movers and shakers, without naming names.
Here is an excerpt from the book.

This is Quinn.
He's a typical happy and playful little boy
This is Quinn's bedroom. He has a collection of stuff toys he calls friends and a pet goldfish named Doug.
Quinn loves reading books and playing games. There's only one thing that Quinn loves more than all of the toys in his room. MUSIC.
Quinn really loves music. He has a collection of musical instruments. He has a guitar, a drum set, a harmonica, some maracas, a recorder and a violin. His Mom and Dad always have music playing in the house. His Dad Loves to listen to Jazz and rockabilly and his Mom loves folk music. So you can understand why he was so happy and excited when his teacher told him that this week was music history week.
Quinn couldn't wait to tell his Mom and Dad. He was so excited about music week that he talked about it all of the way home in the car. When he was at home he talked about it all through dinner. When it was bath time he didn't play with his bath toys but kept talking about music week, and when it was story time he talked about music week. He was so excited.
Quinn's house is across the street from the train tracks, so he is used to hearing the roar and feeling the rumble of the trains as they pass in the night. So use to it that it didn't wake him up anymore. Except this night. Something was different. Quinn stirred and stirred as he felt the rumble, heard the roar, and then he finally awoke. He was sure he could hear music.
Quinn pulled the blankets a side and sat up on the edge of his bed. he slid his feet into his slippers. His feet moved from the rumble. Quinn was startled but not scared. His feet vibrated with a rhythm.
In fact, the whole floor of his bedroom was vibrating.
Quinn thought he could hear something. He thought he could hear music. He got closer to the floor. He put his ear to the floor and noticed that his guitar had fallen because of the vibrations and now it laid on the floor beside his bed. Quinn went to pick up his guitar when he realized that the sound he heard was coming from the guitar on the floor. He put his ear to the guitar and he could hear it.' He was sure he could hear it.' He could', he could hear music coming from below his guitar. Quinn loves music so much that he wasn't afraid but he didn't want to wake up his Mom and dad. He got close to the guitar to hear the music when WHOOSH'
He fell in. Quinn fell into the guitar.
He felt like he was on a slide at the playground, a musical ride. He kept sliding until suddenly he stopped. When the ride ended he found himself standing in a crowded fairground where a man was singing. He was still wearing his flannel pajamas and slippers. The crowd was cheering and cheering, mostly girls, as the man on stage shook and moved across the stage as he sang. Quinn noticed that the mans' guitar was like his.
The next morning.................

The book hopefully will be complete and published in late spring.
As always.
Thanks for following
Best
Steve
